JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Product Engineer based in our Stafford, TX location, you will develop and maintain our safety and pressure product lines in accordance with industry standards and individual customer requirements and drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and profitability.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Be responsible for the engineering database (specifications, drawings, procedures, creation of Engineering Change Notices (ECN), part creation in MRP database, creation of Engineered to Order (ETO) products, and creation of Engineering Change BOM requests (ECM) for assigned product lines).
  • Provide technical support to Customers, Operations, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, and Quality Assurance/Quality Control.
  • Develop engineering specifications for customer special valves.
  • Lead all aspects of the design and drafting in product development, and ensure layouts, drawings and documentation are prepared in accordance with company procedures and industry regulations.
  • Generate procedures for product assembly, testing, repair and maintenance, cleaning, etc.
  • Perform product testing to establish and validate product performance to specifications.
  • Maintain a proven understanding of all Codes and Standards applicable to the assigned product lines and Review Code changes affecting Emerson products.
  • Engage in Product extension and Cost reduction projects, and Product type approvals.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience working with Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor, NX or Equivalent CAD Package
  • Experience with ERP tools such as SAP or ORACLE
  • Proven understanding of mechanical engineering practices, standards/specs, computers, engineering software, planning, communication, presentation, facilitation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to travel up to 10%, both domestic and international, and will be required to visit customer and supplier facilities
  • Ability to work in the United States of America without sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Experience in the design of valves
  • Experience in a metal cutting environment, with knowledge of machining methodologies and practices
  • Proven strengths in stress analysis, FEA, and fluid dynamics
  • Knowledge and experience in fluid flow
  • Experience working with products needing ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code certification and PED certification
